May 2023 Yoga Theme is BALANCE
Viviane Wolfe | MAY 8, 2023

Hello my friend!
May is the month of BALANCE in the online yoga studio, and I am thrilled to share all the ins and outs of feeling more balanced.
Let’s start with a textbook definition of balance. According to dictionary.com, balance can be used as a noun or a verb. It is “a state of equilibrium or equipoise; equal distribution of weight, amount, etc.” It can also be used to describe the act of coming into equilibrium. In wellness and health, we consider optimal health to be a state of homeostasis, or balance of chemical reactions within the body.
In yoga, we think of balance as a temporary state pause between two opposing elements. Think of it as finding the middle point of a scale of temperature, of wetness, of weight, the perfect goldilocks zone where it feels like you are floating between your inhale and exhale.
Balance.
In life, we use flexibility/adaptability along with strength/strong boundaries/value alignment to find balance. Not too rigid but also not too wishy-washy. Kind yet firm.
So pull out your journal and answer this question today: What does balance mean for you? What does it look like?
Balance is one of my favorite topics to share through the lens of yoga. For the rest of this month, we are going to explore the different parts of our life that utilizes balance and how we can come back into homeostasis again and again.
That’s it from me! I truly hope your week is full of ease, peace, and love.
From my heart to yours,
