Poses to Cultivate Confidence

This week’s videos are all yin yoga in style, but I wanted to share my favorite “yoga break” sequence that will help you feel more confident and self-assured. It’s so simple yet so effective, you will love practicing it 2-3 times a day.
Come into a wide leg standing position in a space that feels stable and allows you to reach the arms up without hitting anything. Turn your heels in so your feet are turned out at a gentle diagonal.
Star Pose: As you breathe in, lift the arms up, make a big X shape with your body, take up as much space as you can.
Goddess Pose: As you exhale, bend the knees and turn the thighs outward, sinking the hips down while also beginning the elbows down and knitting the shoulder blades together in cactus arms or goal posts.
Move back and forth between these two poses as you breathe deeply. Extra points for exhaling with KALI breath: breathe out through the mouth with your tongue hanging out. Maybe add a little sound with a HAAAAAH noise.

Repeat 4-7 times and then stand in mountain pose, eyes soft or closed to feel the effects of your practice.
