Lesson 18 | How to Stay Consistent with Yoga (Even When You Don’t Feel Like It!)
Viviane Wolfe | MAY 8, 2025

Welcome to Zen-X Yoga, where we blend the wisdom of yoga therapy and Ayurveda to support Generation X women through the transformative season of midlife. I’m Viviane Wolfe, a certified yoga therapist and guide for this journey. Today, we’re exploring Lesson 18 of the 48 Transformative Lessons Series.
This week, the focus is on staying consistent with a daily yoga practice—even when grief, stress, or chaos make it feel impossible.
We often think of yoga as postures—sun salutations, warrior poses, triangles—but historically, those shapes were just preparation for the real heart of yoga: awareness, breath, and meditation.
One of my teachers used to say, “If postures alone were the answer, ballerinas would be the most enlightened people on the planet.”
So let’s shift our mindset from doing yoga to being in yoga.
Instead of a strict sequence, I want to share a simple, profoundly nourishing practice you can return to daily, especially when your energy is low or your heart is heavy.
Lie on your back (or sit in a chair if that’s more comfortable).
That’s it. That’s yoga.
If you feel like adding gentle movement, hug your knees, twist softly, roll to your side, or stretch into Child’s Pose or Sphinx. Let it be intuitive. Let it be enough.
During a class earlier today, we discussed grief and suffering. We reminded ourselves that yoga doesn’t cure these things, but it gives us the space to meet them, to hold ourselves with compassion, and to move through each day with a little more breath and grace.
Here’s how to make your daily practice stick (even if you’ve struggled before):
Consistency is easier when you’re not doing it alone.
