Yoga to Embrace Growth & New Possibilities – Lesson 11

A Gentle Yoga Practice for Transitioning into Spring

As we shift from winter into spring, it’s the perfect time to embrace introspection, balance, and renewal. This 10-minute yoga practice is designed to help you feel grounded, open, and energized.

A Quick Yoga Flow for Balance and Energy

1. Begin in a Supported Hero’s Pose

  • Sit on a block or blanket for comfort.
  • Keep your shoulders aligned over your hips.
  • Soften your gaze or close your eyes.
  • Take a few deep breaths, inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth.

2. Move into Table Pose & Warm Up with Cat-Cow

  • On an inhale, drop the belly, lift the heart, and gaze forward.
  • On an exhale, round the spine, drawing the navel in.
  • Repeat for several rounds to awaken the spine.

3. Stretch & Strengthen with a Neutral Leg Lift

    • Extend one leg back, pressing the toes into the mat.
    • Shift your weight gently forward and back.
    • Option to lift the leg to hip height, engaging your core.
    • Hold for five breaths, then switch sides.

4. Open the Heart with a Simple Camel Pose

    • Kneel with hands resting on the lower back.
    • Draw elbows back, lift the sternum, and keep hips over knees.
    • If comfortable, curl your toes under or place hands on heels.
    • Stay for five breaths, then release gently.

5. Relax into Bound Angle Pose (Baddha Konasana)

    • Sit with the soles of your feet together and knees open wide.
    • Rest hands on your knees, feet, or gently fold forward.
    • Hold for several breaths, noticing any shifts in sensation.

6. Close with Mindful Reflection

    • Sit tall, close your eyes, and check in with your body.
    • Notice how you feel compared to when you started.
    • Bring your hands to heart center and take a deep breath in, then exhale fully.

This simple yet powerful practice invites you to reconnect with yourself and transition smoothly into the new season.
